ElectroCity was created by an electric company in New Zealand. You get a 5×5 plot of land with some mountains, rivers, forests, an ocean and a town which you develop. You get 150 turns. You have to balance the electric consumption of your denizens with the environmental impact of your decisions. Also you have to raise money and not go bankrupt. It’s a lot like SimCity, but a lot easier to lose.

The dictionary’s owner, Oxford University Press (OUP), said the impact of the internet means OED3 will probably appear only in electronic form.

The most recent OED has existed online for more than a decade, where it receives two million hits a month from subscribers who pay an annual fee of £240.

Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to access the complete dictionary online, you just won’t need to drag your magnifying glass out to browse through it.

But even after controlling for nearly all imaginable variables — socioeconomic status, level of physical activity, number of close friends, quality of social support and so on — the researchers (a six-member team led by psychologist Charles Holahan of the University of Texas at Austin) found that over a 20-year period, mortality rates were highest for those who had never been drinkers, second-highest for heavy drinkers and lowest for moderate drinkers.

Although this study was focused around 55-65 year-olds, their findings are consistent with other scientists who have tested the subject for nearly 2 decades.

So there you have it. You are better off getting wasted all the time than you are not drinking.
